From Rust to Rally: Restoring a Classic Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 with FflatFour

Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000.

I bought my 1998 Subaru classic in 2015 as a project car to "do up" and enjoy during the summer months. After a few weeks it was clear that the car needed restoring as the rust was much worse than first thought.

It was time to look for a Subaru specialist to discuss options. A quick search and FflatFour was found.

After discussing with Rich it was decided that the rear underside components of the car needed removing to weld/repair the shell. All the rust was cut out and replaced with new metal. The underside was then coated and painted to match the car. This included all the wheel arches.

All components were replaced with genuine Subaru parts.

The engine was rebuilt using forged pistons.

A new turbo, a front mount intercooler, and a full Hayward and Scott exhaust system was fitted.

Then a Simtek ECU, mapped by Steve Simpson.

Other mods include, Pedders coil over suspension, Prodrive Alcon front brakes and 18" P1 alloy wheels

The bodywork was then treated to a polish and ceramic coating.

The car is now a pleasure to drive but never goes out in the rain.

FflatFour have serviced and maintained the car using genuine parts and high quality oil.

I can't recommend FflatFour Performance enough for their input into this build. For anything Subaru, look no further.
